People are used to getting a certain type of music from this band, and they aren't exactly making the same singalong, chanty music that we fell in love with over two decades ago. Of course there are going to be people who still enjoy it, but the damn shows don't bring in the crowd like they used to, that has to mean something. Compare the crowd when they play Valhalla, Bards Song, Nightfall, Lord of the Rings, etc to one of those songs. No one sings along to The Throne, or Road of No Release. Battery-powered radios cost as little as 20 at discount stores. You could listen in your car, but a portable radio lets you listen anywhere. That would never happen in Europe, 15 years ago. If phone and Internet systems go down along with the power grid, a battery-powered radio may be your only source of weather and emergency information. I'm comparing their albums and shows to those from 15-20 years ago. I'm not speaking for you, but for the majority of us who were there when BG was peaking. We all have different tastes, even within the genre.
